Draft buzz swirling around Texas A&M football's Shemar Stewart ahead of NFL Combine could vault him into top overall discussion
Texas A&M football is expected to have three players selected, at the very least, in the upcoming NFL Draft. Shemar Turner, Nic Scourton, and Shemar Stewart are all slated to hear their names called in the seven-round event, though likely not all on the same day.
According to PFF's big board, Stewart and Scourton could be day-one players, with Stewart having the best shot. Turner is a day two or three guy most likely, but some team could see higher value there.
But with the NFL Combine and pro days upcoming, there's a chance for one of those three to climb even higher. Shemar Stewart, a former high five-star in the infamous 2022 recruiting class, started for the Aggies the second he stepped on campus— and it wasn't hard to see why.
His frame and athleticism made him a guy that looked NFL-ready from the beginning. It's those factors that have NFL scouts really buzzing— and he could see a huge jump on draft boards here presently because of it.
🚨NEWS: #NFL talent evaluators believe Texas A&M Shemar Stewart could fly up draft boards similar to Travon Walker who went 1st overall.

He is expected to have the highest RAS Athletic score of all time at at the Combine.

Travon Walker was a similar story to Stewart in that he didn't put up eye-popping stats for the Bulldogs in college, but his traits were so elite that he became the first overall pick. Could this be the same story that we see for Shemar?
Texas A&M football fans sure hope so. It would be quite a feather in the school's cap to put yet another first overall pick into the league, and there's no definite number one selection this year. We'll have to wait and see how he does at the combine, but the fact that this is a discussion has to be encouraging not only for Stewart, but Texas A&M football fans more generally.
