Former Texas A&M football DE Shemar Stewart turning heads at Senior Bowl practices

Texas A&M football boasted a highly talented defensive line this year, as has been the case for the past few seasons. The transfer addition of Nic Scourton was huge, and Shemar Turner's move to playing inside full-time promised to be impactful as well.

But the third season of Shemar Stewart, who had been starting on the line since he was a mere freshman, is something that Aggie fans were excited to see. Stewart's measurables have shown that he's NFL-ready since he was in high school, and so a third year of development in the program had A&M fans ready to see what Stewart could do.

Though he didn't put up gaudy sack numbers, Stewart was a big time presence on the Aggie defensive line. He notched 5.5 TFLs on the season, even with a lot of attention being dedicated towards him in protection.

Again, even though his numbers don't jump off of the page at you, many fans expected that his pre-draft process would lead to a considerable leap in his draft stock, given his physical ability. It looks like that exact thing has begun to happen.

Stewart's combination of speed and power has been evident this week just as it was when he was a five-star prospect out of Miami. This highlight demonstrates just how intriguing of a prospect he clearly is for front offices around the NFL.

The first-round buzz is already beginning for Stewart, who could continue to develop into a hugely impactful talent at the next level. As a reminder, he was only 17 as a freshman, and he has been starting for the Aggies since the first game of that year. He's got a lot of development left ahead of him, in other words.

Draft experts are beginning to figure out what Aggie fans have known for quite some time: that Shemar Stewart is a first-round talent. Here's hoping his stock only continues to rise.
