Texas A&M football lands freak athlete, edge rusher Samuel M'Pemba from Georgia via transfer portal

Texas A&M football came into this portal window needing to bolster their team at two different spots: wide receiver and defensive line. They have now all but put the finishing touches on both of those positions after this latest commitment.

The Aggies snagged two high-profile receivers from the portal in Micah Hudson and Mario Craver. Last week, they got a highly productive transfer from Colorado in Dayon Hayes. Now, they've added yet one more defensive lineman— this time, from the Georgia Bulldogs.

The Aggies hosted former UGA edge rusher Samuel M'Pemba this past weekend, and reports were positive coming out of that Saturday. However, there was still some ambiguity as regards timeline. That ambiguity has now been abolished, as M'Pemba announced today that he would be transferring to Texas A&M football.

M'Pemba was highly-rated in the class of 2023 for his eye-popping athleticism. Though it was clear he was raw and would take some time to develop, his upside was undeniable.

Because of that rawness, M'Pemba didn't see the field a lot in Athens— not to mention the fact that he has some no-doubt first-rounders ahead of him with the Bulldogs. But he's been biding his time, developing under the Bulldogs S&C program— and now, the Aggies will reap the benefits.

This is a big time add for the Aggies. M'Pemba has athleticism that they don't possess in any of their other guys on the roster. He may not start day one, but I have no doubt that Elko will have packages in which to deploy him effectively as soon as the start of next season.
