Texas A&M football has a lot to be excited about in the 2025 season. Maybe the only downside is the burtal schedule the Aggies are facing; aside from that, though, A&M has a lot of reason to believe that they'll take some massive strides compared to last season.

A lot of that has to do with the overabundance of returning talent that the Aggies will be bringing back. Three starters along the defensive line and a cadre of below-average pass-catchers are what A&M really needs to replace; they bring back a lot of experience and talent most other spots.

An area that has been previously seen as a weakness on this team, though, could now be one of the premier spots on the squad. Scooby Williams far outpaced the dark prognostications that Florida fans made in 2024, showing himself to be a real star for the Aggies. But it's the man alongside him that Pro Football Focus in particular is high on for the upcoming season.

Pro Football Focus ranks Texas A&M football's Taurean York as second-best returning LB in college football

In a recently-released ranking, PFF ranked York as the second-best returning LB in the entire sport, ahead of some of the biggest names in the country. The lone player ahead of him was Anthony Hill, who York ranked ahead of last season.

York's heady playstyle and stout defense in the run game has garnered him no shortage of respect in the program and from the fanbase, and he quickly became a fan favorite after coming to campus. Entering his third year, York now will be looking to make an even greater leap with the NFL on his mind.

With York and Williams manning the middle of the Aggie defense in 2025, A&M should be stout at that spot. All of a sudden, the Aggies look like they may have one of the best LB units in the SEC going into the upcoming season.
