Texas A&M football appears to be close to landing the plane with a big time in-state target— one that could have a domino effect.

Texas A&M football receives prediction to land 4-star linebacker DaQuives Beck: How one recruiting win could turn into two for Aggies

Texas A&M football is in the midst of a quest to return to recruiting glory in this latest cycle. The Aggies are already building an extremely strong class for 2026, and some analysts have even mentioned that the Ags could challenge for the number one overall spot in the rankings.

Such a result is still a long way off, and there's a lot to achieve before something like that could be considered realistic. But every eventuality keeps making the possibility stronger, as this staff is on a real tear so far.

To that end, they received a prediction today to land one of their top targets. Four-star linebacker DaQuives Beck, out of Carthage high school, was predicted today by On3's Steve Wiltfong to commit to the Aggies.

This would be a big win in and of itself, as the Aggies are battling the in-state Longhorns and others to be the team that eventually signs Beck. But while it would represent a huge step in itself towards achieving the Aggies' dreams of the top-ranked class, it could also mean something even greater.

A&M is also locked in a battle with Texas for Carthage RB KJ Edwards. The Aggies are hoping to add Edwards to the already-committed Jonathan Hatton to form one of the best RB tandems in the nation, and rob the Longhorns of their top target at the position in the process.

"Package deals" are overplayed in recruiting, of course, but I certainly don't think it would work against the Aggies at all if they can get Edwards' teammate committed in Beck. That could represent a sea change in the Edwards recruitment of the kind that sees the Aggies coming out on top on signing day.

Even if they don't get Edwards, though, landing Beck would be a huge win for Texas A&M. These predictions have amounted to nothing in the past, of course, but hopefully this one is right on the money
