Texas A&M football fans across the nation have been enraptured by the resurgence of the Detroit Lions over the past few years. Behind one of the best stories to follow in the NFL over these past few years are two sons of College Station: Aaron Glenn and Dan Campbell.
Both Glenn and Campbell were well-beloved players and team leaders in their time with the Aggies, and both represented the Ags quite well in their playing careers. It has been the turn to coaching, however, that has seen both of these former Aggie players find their true calling.
Campbell bounced around as an assistant several places before landing the Lions head coaching gig. One of his first hires was Glenn, who had coached in a few different places as an assistant but had yet to be a DC.
It became immediately evident, however, that Glenn's talent as a coordinator and leader was quite considerable. He was a feature player on that season of Hard Knocks, which introduced NFL fans to Campbell and Glenn properly.
Now, after impressive year over year improvement in Detroit, Glenn has landed the opportunity to be a coach himself.
Aaron Glenn named New York Jets head coach; Former Texas A&M football player now second Aggie NFL HC
It was announced yesterday by Adam Schefter that Glenn would be taking on the mantle of the New York Jets head coach.

This makes Glenn the second Aggie HC in the NFL after Campbell. This is the same number as last year, given that Dennis Allen down in New Orleans has been dismissed.
We wish Coach Glenn all the best! The Jets have proven to be a tough franchise to turn around, but he's earned his shot.
