Texas A&M football set to host big time 2026 prospect and recent Alabama decommit Dorian Barney this weekend

Texas A&M football has been on a heater in the class of 2026 recently. The Aggies have added a plethora of quality pieces over the last few weeks, and now boast the top-ranked class in the cycle.

It's obviously yet still the very early stages of that recruiting year, but the solid foundation Elko and the Aggies are laying look to be huge positives for how this class could end up turning out. They've also positioned themselves well with a couple of top-10 overall prospects for that cycle, which would both be no-brainer five-stars once they reach their senior year.

The Aggies are not resting on their laurels, however. News came down recently that they are set to host one of the top juniors in the nation, Dorian Barney, who recently backed off of a commitment to Alabama.

Barney is a top-100 recruit in half of the services, and is right around that mark in the composite rankings. His arrow is pointed up, as well—his measurables are pretty impressive.

All signs point towards the Aggies being high on the list for Barney, as they appear to be for most of the top prospects on the come up. Though this weekend is by no means a huge game for the Ags, it could be a weekend that sways a guy like Barney to extend a commitment to A&M—or, at the very least, lay a solid foundation going forward.
