Texas A&M football signee Marco Jones named Navy All-American Bowl Defensive Player of the Year, showing his massive potential as he heads to College Station
Texas A&M football signed a pretty solid class this past offseason. Despite missing on a few top targets from early in the cycle, the Aggies rebounded well, adding several signing-day flips to their group, including five-star Lamont Rogers.
Though the state of Texas was overflowing with talent in the 2025 class, one of the big stories for the Aggies was their work in adding some players from the Golden State. Mike Elko's staff reached into California to add some high-caliber players in the classβ a feat they hope to repeat in this upcoming cycle.
One of those players is a guy that this staff has spoken about as maybe the most underrated prospect they signed. Given that he is already highly-rated, that's some pretty lofty praise.
I'm referring, of course, to Marco Jones, the edge defender out of Danville, CA. Jones was a late bloomer in high school, and though he was lower-ranked, he had the offer list of a five-star.
Jones received an invite to the Navy All-American Bowl, where he has been impressing among the nation's top recruits. So much so, in fact, that he has been named the Navy All-American Bowl Defensive Player of the year.
In other words, Jones has been head and shoulders above the list of star-studded prospects that are filling out the Navy All-American Bowl rosters. That speaks to his ability compared to his peers, and the potential he brings in to College Station this offseason.
Jones is an early enrollee, so the coaching staff will get a chance to see just how good their eval was in person quite soon. If you're looking for incoming players who may make some noise early on in their careers, Jones would be a guy to watch closely.
