Texas A&M hero from 2025's biggest win makes huge play at Senior Bowl practice

This is the kind of thing that rockets a player up draft boards.
Texas A&M tight end Nate Boerkircher (87) celebrates after scoring a touchdown to tie the game in the second half of a NCAA football game against Notre Dame at Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, in South Bend. The extra point scored after this touchdown put Texas A&M ahead 41-40 to win the game.

Nate Boerkircher was not the most heralded Texas A&M transfer portal addition this past offseason, but he ended up being one of the most impactful, without a doubt. He made several massive catches over the course of the year, but none were bigger than his game-winner against Notre Dame in South Bend.

Boerkircher came to Aggieland with only one year of eligibility to spare, but he leaves as the consummate fan favorite— and despite his Nebraska roots, the connection between he and the Texas A&M community is still extremely strong. That's why fans have been so excited to watch how he develops in the pre-draft process— of which the Senior Bowl is a huge part.

The former Aggie tight end has been showing out at the Senior Bowl so far, capped off yesterday with a huge catch he made to end the day of practice— and now, his big moment is going viral.

Here's how Boerkircher's catch looked on the live broadcast of the tight end vs linebacker competition:

Boerkircher was described early on by Marcel Reed and others on the team as having some of the best hands of any Aggie pass-catcher. He certainly puts that on display, bringing this pass in right over the helmet of the defender.

Talk about a high level of difficulty for a catch! Boerkircher made it look like nothing, but this is not a catch that even very many NFL tight ends would be able to bring in with regularity.

Moments like these show off skillsets for these players that they may have only been able to display in practice for one reason or another. Whether due to play calling or whatever other situation, players sometimes are not put in the situation to make highlight plays like this— though, of course, Boerkircher had one of the biggest highlights of the year for the Aggies, just not one of this type.

It should be no surprise, then, that Boerkircher is listed as a standout from yesterday's practice. Hopefully, this is a sign that his stock will continue to rise, just like Dametrious Crownover's has.

Aggies everywhere will be excited to continue tracking where Nate will end up for his NFL career.
