Texas A&M football is no stranger to pulling in out-of-state commitments, especially this cycle. Mike Elko and company are building a very strong class that is also remarkably spread out geographically; they've gone from coast to coast with their current commit list, and are looking to continue their momentum from last year in California particularly.
The Aggies already have some high-profile commitments from the Golden State in EDGE Samu Moala and WR Madden Williams, and they're hoping to pull in another one in five-star Brandon Arrington when he announces on July 5. One that didn't go their way, though, at least initially, is DE Richard Wesley.
A reclassified player from the class of 2027, Wesley committed to Oregon earlier this month. He was listed as one of the top players in that cycle, and retained five-star status when he jumped up to the 2026 class. The Aggies had some momentum, but his commitment to the Ducks was a real blow— however, it looks like the door may be cracked.
Texas A&M set to receive visit from five-star Oregon commit Richard Wesley
That commitment from Wesley apparently isn't stopping him from taking other visits. Though he has an OV set up to Oregon, he will also be checking out some other top-tier programs from around the nation:

His schedule is as follows:
•Oregon: June 6
•Texas: June 20
•Ohio State: August 30

Though he hasn't set the date yet for his trip to College Station, it's a definite positive that he includes A&M on this list. Even though specific days haven't been chosen, it shows that he is certain that he wants to get a better look at what Mike Elko has going on in Aggieland.
Whenever Wesley does show up to visit the Aggies, A&M had better roll out the red carpet. This is a can't-miss type of talent that we're talking about here, and they're recruiting against some of the nation's heavy-hitters on the trail.
This is a positive step to say the least for the Aggies. Hopefully, they can flip momentum in their direction whenever Wesley gets to College Station.
