Texas A&M is looking to add soon to their already loaded 2027 recruiting class, as five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson recently included the Aggies in his top six:

The Aggies have made a hard push for the Louisiana native so far, but it will be hard to thwart the in-state Tigers, especially with the offensive skins on the wall that Lane Kiffin boasts. If anyone can do it, though, it's Texas A&M offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins, who has produced a large number of his own prolific pass-catchers over the years.
Hudson is one of the most unique and versatile offensive pieces in the class. He's a massive player, which is why he's listed as a tight end, but he's one of the most polished receivers in the nation as well. Additionally, he's a top-32 basketball recruit, as it says above, which speaks to his overall athletic ability.
Texas A&M in the thick of things for five-star TE Ahmad Hudson with Lane Kiffin pressing hard
The Aggies already have what is shaping up to be a class that could possibly challenge for the top overall spot before all is said and done this year. The Aggies have three five-star commits currently, all of whom patrol the defensive backfield, and could add another in the nation's top corner, John Meredith.
Hudson would be a more-than-worthy addition to this class if they are able to bring him in— he would actually be one of the players to track closely as a possible early contributor thanks to his sheer ability. However, getting him away from Lane Kiffin and the Tigers won't be easy— A&M thought they could have Lamar Brown in the bag last year before the hometown call won out.
Of course, if basketball is a big piece of the equation, then the Aggies have an advantage there. Bucky Ball has taken the SEC by storm, while LSU continues to while away in mediocrity. A football-first decision is a little bit closer, with the home-state draw likely tilting things towards the Tigers ever so slightly.
The next step for the Aggies is to get Hudson on campus, which they are no doubt already working on for this spring. Maybe that will be enough to get things over the finish line, but this will be a heart-pounding recruitment until signing day no matter what.
