Texas A&M is set to take their 'Blackout' theme to an entirely new level this year after it was such a success in 2024 against the LSU Tigers.
Texas A&M fans were overjoyed to hear that the Aggies were bringing back the much-beloved all black uniforms for a game this year, even if it is against Mississippi State rather than a rival like LSU. Given that this was the only guaranteed home conference game that was set to kick at night, it makes sense, however.
Even though they're trotting this out against the Bulldogs, though, it is still going to create a raucous and energetic environment like none other. This is a Texas A&M team that can move to 5-0 with a victory over the Bulldogs, further cementing themselves as one of the best teams in the entire nation— and the football program is doing what they can to ensure that this is one of the best home field advantages in the nation this weekend.
Texas A&M teases Kyle Field blackout for Mississippi State game
Texas A&M will be wearing the all-black uniforms, of course, but it looks like they're taking things even to the next level based on this tease we just got from the Aggies' social media pages.

You can see the maroon logos and sidelines begin to turn black midway through the clip before the end zones themselves finally turn completely black. If this is indeed the look they're going with, then it's a remarkable commitment to the theme.
It would certainly be Kyle Field as we've never seen it before. Once upon a time, back in the Sumlin days, the Aggies had a blacked out block Texas A&M logo at midfield when they wore the Aggie Nights uniforms against South Carolina, but this looks like they're even going further than that.
It could be that they're planning to put a different end zone logo than we're expecting— perhaps the script "Aggies" that was printed on the black helmets. If that's what they go with, it would be a pretty good look.
Regardless, leaning into this theme is a big plus. There are doubtless some who don't enjoy it, but doing this every once in a while creates a lot of buzz around your program and game.
