Texas A&M is going full patriotic mode for Saturday's game against Arizona State

The Aggies are pulling out all the stops for the Red, White, and Blue Out.

One of the most memorable moments in Texas A&M football history was the storied Red, White, and Blue Out that took place in the 2001 season against Oklahoma State. The student-driven intiative led to the entire top deck of Kyle wearing red, the middle deck wearing white, and the bottom deck in blue as a show of patriotism in the wake of the September 11 attacks.

This year, on the 25th anniversary of the attacks, the Aggies are bringing the Red, White, and Blue Out back for a third time (they also had one for the 2021 opener against Kent State). This one is scheduled for this weekend against Arizona State, and the Aggies are going all out on the theming for this memorable and meaningful weekend.

The first thing that fans were shown this week was the custom paint job the field is getting for Saturday. The Aggies have had a star-spangled version of the logo before (against UTEP in 2012), but this is the first time they've done the end zones or the stadium ribbon screens to match it like this.

Then, of course, you have the fan attire, which wil be the same this weekend as it was in 2001 and 2021: red for the upper deck, white for the middle, and blue for the lower bowl. The effect it creates is great in person, and looks amazing on the broadcast as well— a fitting and moving tribute to the memory of those lost on September 11, 2001.

The Aggies will be wearing a tribute uniform as well this weekend: the maroon tops are unchanged, and they're going with plain white pants, but they will be donning the white helmets with the star-spangled version of the Aggie logo for the first time in quite a while:

Patriotism is high among the Aggie fanbase, something that this weekend should really put on full display. The environment in Kyle Field this Saturday is truly going to be a memorable one, and fans can hardly wait to see how it looks.
