Texas A&M's matchup against the Miami Hurricanes is drawing all sorts of people to College Station— even those who Aggie fans thought may never set foot in Aggieland again. Former head coach Jimbo Fisher's tenure ended abruptly in College Station, and with some of the sore feelings that certain sections of the fanbase have towards him, many though he'd make himself scarce around town— but now, it looks like he may be back for this game.

The ACC Network announced yesterday that their studio show, the ACC Huddle, would be in College Station for the Aggies' showdown with Miami, given that this is the only ACC team in the playoff. That studio crew, of course, includes the former Aggie and Florida State Seminole coach Jimbo Fisher as part of their lineup.

Former Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher will be back in town for Texas A&M vs. Miami

The press release from ESPN about the studio shows covering this game is extensive, and includes some pretty interesting tidbits about Fisher's role in particular here.

Jimbo's role on the show will begin tonight, running from 4-6 PM ET as he will be back within Kyle Field for maybe the first time since the 2023 Mississippi State game— the release mentions that this show will be broadcast "from the southeast corner of Kyle Field."

Fisher will also have a "crossover" appearance on the SEC Network tomorrow morning, where he'll break down some of the matchups that the Aggies will be facing against the Hurricanes. This will be a segment that will be sure to be of great interest to a lot of Aggie fans, as Fisher obviously still has a pretty intimate knowledge of this A&M roster.

Jimbo, of course, coached the Aggies in their last matchup against the Hurricanes, when A&M went down to Miami in 2023. That was a big win for the Canes, as Tyler Van Dyke threw all over a bad Aggie secondary, but you had guys like Marcel Reed, Taurean York, and DJ Hicks on that team at that point.

It will be interesting to see the kind of reception that Fisher gets. There are certainly some fans who are still bitter about his era, but others have moved on.
