After losing Nate Boekircher and Theo Melin Ohrstrom, the Texas A&M tight end position was in question.

That question was answered over the weekend when Houston Thomas, an outstanding TE from UTSA, committed to Texas A&M. Thomas is one of the more underrated players in the country, as well as a highly talked-about player in the portal recently.

At 6-foot-5, 245 pounds, Thomas possesses what Texas A&M badly needs, a one-on-one man. Mike Elko not only filled the position he needed to, but he also just snagged one of the best cheat codes for Marcel Reed’s career.

This was about the best news A&M fans could’ve got this weekend, as they desperately needed to fill that TE spot. Thomas also has quite a resume for himself from just last season alone.

In the last two seasons, he totaled 68 catches, 817 yards, & five touchdowns. He has been a reliable target on a UTSA team that has made a name for itself over the past few seasons. Against Texas A&M, Thomas only put up a stat line of two catches for 22 yards, but now, he will be on the other side.

This move for Thomas was also bound to happen, as Thomas played his high school ball just down the road at College Station High School. It seems like the storybook ending he always wanted to close out his career, and he’s earned every bit of this opportunity.

A&M fans will be more than happy to see Thomas set foot on campus to close out an incredible collegiate career in Aggieland.
