Texas A&M has been named in the top group for Hough, NC corner Josh Dobson, the number six-ranked player in the nation, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.

This should come as little surprise to fans who have been following Texas A&M's recruiting closely over the last few months, as the Aggies have been at or near the top for Dobson for quite some time. This has come despite the fact that they have three five-star defensive backs committed already (though, admittedly, only one of those is a corner) adn that they are the leaders in the clubhouse for the nation's no. 2 player in CB John Meredith.

It seems doubtful that the Aggies could get both Dobson and Meredith, so keeping lines of communication open with both was causing fans some angst— however, Elko's strategy seems to be working out just fine.

At different times, Texas A&M's two biggest rivals— LSU and Texas— have come on strong for both top corner prospects. LSU has made a hard push to land Dobson, as they look to snag another five-star defender from the Carolinas after getting DL Jaiden Bryant, and Texas is doing what they can to thwart Texas A&M's momentum with John Meredith.

However, the Aggies have remained a constant presence in both recruitments. With Dobson, LSU is considered the leader in most quarters, but the Aggies are set to receive a visit in the near future where they'll have a chance to turn the tide.

Being in the top group for the nation's top two cornerbacks isn't a bad place to be, all told. Texas A&M is looking to be in great position to add a big time defender to their class soon— and Dobson may be the guy.
