Texas A&M has always had a lot of potential as a school when it comes to athletics, but the problem has been delivering on that potential. The Aggies consistently report high revenue and the size and commitment of the fanbase is well-known, but an elite level of winning has been somewhat elusive.

There's a lot to be said about the reasons for that, and it's the subject of endless debates on forums and social media, with fans offering all sorts of different opinions on the root cause. More than anything else, though, it's a lack of organizational alignment that has been present for quite some time.

The Aggies seem to have gotten that under control with their new AD hire. The only time you ever hear about Trev Alberts, it's been good news, and that bodes well for the future of Aggie athletics. An announcement today that came down from Alberts shows yet again that the Aggies are moving in the right direction under his leadership.

Texas A&M just got huge competitive advantage by fully scholarshipping each sport

In the new world of NIL, revenue sharing, and every other hot-button issue in college athletics, the Aggies are ready to show that they're ahead of the curve. This comes most recently in their commitment to fully fund every scholarship for every sport, as was announced today by Trev Alberts.

This will give the Aggies a huge advantage in some of the sports where scholarships are traditionally only partially guaranteed, such as baseball. With a possible move on the horizon at the head coaching position for the Aggie baseball team, this will be a definite draw for coaches considering the position.

This also shows that the Aggies are not taking any half measures when it comes to commitment to success in athletics. They are putting their money where their mouth is, and that's been a winning recipe for many schools.

Make no mistake, this is a big move for the Aggies. A&M is committed to winning at the highest level, and this latest maneuver only reifies that truth.
