Texas A&M is entering this upcoming season with some of the biggest names in the sport on their team. The Aggies’ squad is replete with luminaries across all positions even despite losing some big names, like KC Concepcion, to the NFL draft after last season.
Texas A&M’s signal caller, Marcel Reed, is one of the most often-discussed players in the nation and was climbing up Heisman lists until late last year. Mario Craver was leading the conference in receiving yards in the early part of last year and was one of the most feared weapons at hat position in the entire nation.
That’s not even to mention guys like Anto Saka, a player who is generating a lot of preseason buzz after his transfer from Northwestern, or Isaiah Horton, who’s transfer over to Texas A&M from Alabama made headlines. It’s impossible to deny that the Aggies have talent all over the field, but some places are even still attempting to downplay that reality.
Texas A&M’s preseason all-SEC list includes numerous players, but still isn’t enough
Athlon released their preseason all-SEC teams for 2026, and eight Aggies made the cut across the four teams. Here’s the breakdown:
All-SEC First Team: WR Mario Craver, DB Marcus Ratcliffe
All-SEC Second Team: WR Terry Bussey, OL Mark Nabou
All-SEC Third Team: DB Dalton Brooks, DE Anto Saka
All-SEC Fourth Team: DB Dezz Ricks, RB Rueben Owens

That’s two Aggie players on each team for a total of eight. That’s a considerable number, but it’s still not close to enough— there are more than a few notable snubs here.
Let’s start off with the obvious. Where is Isaiah Horton on this list? Terry Bussey is a great player, but unless this is entirely based off of projection for him to take a massive jump in his third year as a receiver, it’s hard to understand how he made one of these teams and Horton did not.
Then, you have the case of a guy like Dezz Ricks. Ricks made the fourth team, but that’s far underrating him compared to where he should be at the end of the day— he’s one of the best corners in the country, much less the conference, and was part of one of the best defensive backfields in the entire nation last season.
Not including Daymion Sanford is understandable given his injury, but in a just world, he would be on this list as well. Jamarion Morrow has yet to fully break out, but you can bet he’ll be on a list like this at season’s end.
Marcel doesn’t make it into the top four signal-callers in this preseason list, either, which is expected, but it’s not something that will stand until the end of the season, if our indications so far are reliable. Reed has been putting in a lot of work since the end of last year, and he will prove himself to be one of the top quarterbacks in the conference by year’s end.
