Texas A&M receiver Mario Craver was named today to the watch list for the Biletnikoff award, which is awarded each year to the most outstanding receiver in the country, after being left off of the watch list at the beginning of the season.

This is a significant but well-deserved step for Mario, as he has shown himself already to be one of the most dynamic receivers in the entire nation this year. His performance against Notre Dame was otherworldly, earning him innumerable honors from every corner— and, of course, helping lift the Aggies to victory.
Craver's numbers are really eye-popping so far this season, outstripping the projections of even the most optimistic Aggie fan. He is currently second in the nation in receiving yards per game and still near the top in total receiving yards, despite having played fewer games than everyone else around him.
Texas A&M receiver Mario Craver finally named to Biletnikoff Award watch list
The scary thing is that Craver may not even be the best receiver on the Aggie roster. KC Concepcion may not have the numbers that Craver does so far, but he's just as good as no. 1, if not better— he just has yet to break out production-wise.
With these two guys on the roster, the Aggies' passing attack has been entirely transformed. Craver and Concepcion have taken this offense to the next level, and Marcel Reed is on the precipice of adding a final dimension to his game that will make the unit nigh unstoppable.
Of course, only one player can win the award, and getting one player on is better than none. However, don't be surprised if you see the other Aggie wideout getting some of the same recognition before all is said and done.
Craver is a worthy inclusion here and maybe the biggest threat to win the award— the only player currently better than him in receiving yards per game is a San Jose State player, Danny Scudero. Given that Craver has been doing this against better competition, he could be in the driver's seat to win this award— which would have been tough to imagine in the preseason.
