Texas A&M recruiting rumors: Aggies could be on the verge of landing five-star talent

Texas A&M has been hot on the trail of several five-stars this cycle, and they might be on the cusp of bringing one home.

Texas A&M under Mike Elko has kept up the hot recruiting that made the previous regime so tough to dismiss for many fans. The Aggies have won some big time battles already early in Elko's tenure, with guys like Lamont Rogers at the top of that list.

2026, though, looks to be a different beast. Where A&M had to pick their spots a little bit in Elko's first full cycle, they're casting a nationwide net in this upcoming class with some great early returns.

A&M currently has a 100% hit rate on their commits meeting the "blue-chip ratio," a prerequisite for being a national championship contender. That means that every player they have committed right now is at least a four star, and they have a couple of borderline five stars in the boat right now as well.

Texas A&M football could be close to landing uber-athletic California five-star Brandon Arrington

However, there are some true blue five-star talents that the Aggies have a great shot at this year— with Brandon Arrington chief among them. Recent tweets from Arrington make it seem as though he is nearing a decision:

There's still a prediction on the books from On3's Steve Wiltfong that Arrington will end up in the Maroon and White. Aggie recruiting reporters, such as Landyn Rosow of Rivals, seem to think these recent indications are a good sign for the Aggies:

Arrington has now released a final five, for which the Aggies unsurprisingly made the cut, and has announced that he will be going public with his commitment on July 5th.

This would be a huge coup for the Aggies; Arrington has the ability to not only be an electric receiver or returner, but a lockdown corner as well. To pull him out of the West Coast, away from schools like USC and Oregon, would be a big deal, and it looks like Mike Elko and company are getting close to doing just that.
