Texas A&M will see a lot of their major targets begin to make decisions pretty soon— can the Aggies close out on these top players?

Texas A&M recruiting could either be lifted or driven into ground by early July run of commitments

The 2026 class for Texas A&M is set to be a pretty high-level group. The Aggies are eyeing some top talent from around the country to add to their current formidable commit class, and they have a great chance with all of them.

As the cycle wears on, early July looks like it will be a flashpoint for the Aggies. Here are four blue-chippers who will make their decisions public in that timeframe.

Lamar Brown

The top athlete prospect in the class is cut from an interesting jib. Normally, the recruits who are classified as athletes play LB/RB or WR/CB— you rarely, if ever, see a high-level OL/DL.

But Brown is an exceptional player. A five-star by any metric, Brown will be a key pickup for whoever he commits to. His decision will be public on July 10, and Aggie fans are hoping fervently that he selects the Maroon and White.

Brandon Arrington

Another five-star athlete, this one more of the traditional WR/CB variety, Arrington is also highly-sought-after. The Aggies are competing with Alabama, Southern Cal, and Oregon for Arrington's verbal, and it will be hotly contested.

Though he's electric no matter where you put him, Arrington projects as a shutdown corner. He could be a centerpiece of Mike Elko's defense if the Aggies land him, as they hope to when he announces on July 5.

Jamarion Carlton

Carlton is one of the bigger in-state battles during this cycle. The defensive end out of Temple is either a five-star or right on the edge, depending on which service you consult, so his recruitment is hotly contested.

This one will come down to the Aggies and the Longhorns, with both sides feeling as though they've commanded the momentum at different times. Carlton has announced that he will go public with his choice on July 10.

Kenneth Goodwin III

The four-star LB out of California will be deciding between SMU, Texas A&M, Georgia, Michigan, and Oregon on July 1. The Aggies have been making waves in the Golden State this cycle, so they're a real danger in this one. Georgia is always a threat, of course, so the Aggies have their work cut out for them.
