Bucky McMillan looks like he can hardly do any wrong right now in the transfer portal for Texas A&M basketball. Even though he got a late start on the transfer ranks due to the time of his hire, he's doing one heck of a job spinning straw into gold right now.

The Aggies have had some impressive and highly-rated commits already, including Indiana big man Mackenzie Mgbako. Fans who follow the team closely could see the vision coming together for what the first iteration of Bucky Ball in the SEC would look like— but there was one piece missing.

Though the Aggies landed Mgbako and former Longhorn Jamie Vinson as two tall frontcourt presences, a defensive specialist and rim protector was what was needed in order to complete this lineup for Bucky's maiden voyage with the Aggies. As of late Thursday evening, the Ags have locked in exactly the pickup they need.

Texas A&M basketball gets premier defender via portal as Federiko Federiko commits to Bucky McMillan

Texas A&M just made a big time addition to their team— both on the actual basketball front and in the realm of awesome names— as they picked up a commitment from former Texas Tech big man Federiko Federiko.

This is massive for Bucky and the Aggies. Federiko's skillset is exactly what A&M needed to begin to round out this team for the year— though he's not an offensive specialist, he's in no way a liability; he's experienced, can work in a fast-paced offense, and more.

The work isn't totally done at this point, but this team is looking more and more complete. Bucky has taken this roster miles from where it was when he took the job, and he need only put a few finishing touches on at this point for this to be a real contender in the conference.
