Texas A&M baseball's season is hanging by a thread. The Aggies have been all but eliminated from the postseason on the merits of their resume, thanks to a late-season skid where they lost five out of six to Missouri (who swept the Aggies at home and got exactly 0 other SEC wins this year) and Georgia.
Now, the Ags have headed to Hoover to attempt to win the SEC tournament as a way to get to the postseason. Auto-qualifier status really looks like it could be the Aggies' only hope now, but that is a dim hope indeed given their low seed and the overall difficulty of the field.
The Aggies were supposed to begin their attempt tonight with a game against Mississippi State. However, as is tradition when it comes to playing the SEC Tournament down in Hoover, it looks like the weather has something to say about that prospect.
Texas A&M baseball vs. Mississippi State delayed by weather to 9:30 AM Wednesday
Texas A&M will survive at least one more day in this baseball season, but it's not thanks to a win. No, it's thanks to a win... d. Wind. That's a pun.
A storm, actually. One about to be sweeping through Hoover right now!
🚨 GAME 4 UPDATE
— Southeastern Conference (@SEC) May 21, 2025
Due to projected severe weather in the Hoover area and in the interest of the safety of fan and participants, Game 4 of the #SECTourney between @HailStateBB and @AggieBaseball has been postponed until Wednesday morning.

This is not a great outcome for the Aggies, who had a grueling road, physically speaking, even without the prospect of playing a double-header along the way. Now, they'll have to beat Mississippi State in the morning, rest up, and play Auburn in the evening if they are to continue to advance.
Again, this is all a remote possibility anyway, but this just made things harder. The SEC is bound to continue in Hoover for quite some time thanks to the current contract, but it seems like weather delays are a fixture at this time of year: springtime in the south and all that.
Hopefully, this doesn't throw the Aggies off too badly. We'll have some early morning baseball tomorrow, folks.
