One of Texas A&M fans' favorite things about the football season is the weekly video series put together by Texas A&M Athletics, The Pulse. This series has been going for over a decade now, and it gives the Aggie faithful a look behind the scenes of the week leading up to a game as well as exciting highlights from the field level.
The Aggies have just announced that The Pulse is getting a makeover, moving from one weekly episode to two. Instead of one Wednesday night feature, Aggieland will get two: one on Monday, one on Thursday, with the former focusing on the previous week's game and the latter focusing on the personal, story-telling aspect of the show.

This comes in the wake of an overhaul of Texas A&M's media thanks to the new deal that the Aggies made with PlayFly. They've expanded their list of offerings to include new podcasts and other pieces of media for fans to stay engaged throughout the football season.
Texas A&M fans are going to get a double dose of The Pulse starting this season
It will be interesting to see how this pans out for the Aggies, of course. Fans love The Pulse, but you only need to take a look at the view counts from game to game to see that the series is a lot more popular following wins than it is when the previous week was a loss.
It's also an interesting move to bifurcate the series between the highlights and the behind-the-scenes story aspect of things. It seems that a lot of fans come to the series for one or the other rather than both, so this may elucidate which part of the show fans are most interested in.
Regardless of that, though, this is another move that shows that the Aggies are moving into the future with a renewed focus in becoming one of the foremost brands in college athletics. The shift in the way the media team has been covering the football team in the preseason has been pretty obvious— in a very good way— and adding more offerings like this is another signal of that shift.
Things are rapidly changing in the world of college football in many ways, and as the sport becomes more and more valuable, the Aggies are becoming more and more visible. The move to the SEC was one way that the Aggies accomplished this; moves like this are yet another.
Whatever the case, one thing is for sure: the Aggie faithful are excited to get even more of The Pulse than they have over the last number of years. Episode 1 looks like it will be coming this Monday— and Aggieland can't wait.
