Texas A&M's huge 2025 season, in which they won 11 games for the first time since 2012, saw them get to those wins in a variety of different ways. Some were early blowouts, some were closer down the stretch, and some were absolute back and forth roller coasters.
Every single season, Bill Connelly of ESPN ranks the top 100 games in a given year after the championship has concluded. This season, the Aggies managed to land three games on the list— all within the top 16— and which three they were should come as no surprise at all to the Texas A&M faithful.
Texas A&M's top games of 2025: no. 16 - Miami 10, Texas A&M 3
This game will be a sore reminder for Texas A&M football fans of what could have been, especially now in retrospect, given that Miami got all the way to the national championship game. Had Texas A&M just executed a little bit better in the final moments of the game— had they had a competent kicker available, even— then it might have been them facing off with Indiana rather than Miami.
All that said, though, you have to admit that this was a high-level football game. Though it was low-scoring, it was still entertaining— the physicality with which both defenses were playing was eye-catching to even the casual fan.
Here's how Connelly described the game: "Maybe the most aesthetically ...unique game of the season. Before Miami could make a run to the CFP championship game, the Hurricanes had to survive impossibly windy conditions (and a strong Texas A&M defense) in College Station."
He recaps the heart-pounding final few moments— from the Malachi Toney fumble that the Aggies could not capitalize on, to Mark Fletcher breaking out once Albert Regis went down with an injury, to the crushing end zone interception that ended the Aggies' season. This was a tough one for Aggie fans to watch, but it's one for the books nevertheless.
