Bucky McMillan has been active in the portal this offseason for Texas A&M, but he's got one guard whose future is soon to be decided.

Marcus Hill, who just played for the Aggies as his third school in as many years, has decided to enter the transfer portal per TexAgs, but there's a twist. If the NCAA gives the green light for Hill to come back for another season, Texas A&M may be able to keep him, but all options will be on the table until then.

"Hill is awaiting a waiver from the NCAA for an additional year of eligibility. If he gets it approved, a return to Texas A&M is possible."
Luke Evangelist

Texas A&M guard Marcus Hill still might return to Texas A&M if an additional year of eligibility is approved

The Aggies would need two wins to work for them, but it's still possible. As Evangelist adds, Hill wants to return. It's just a matter of the NCAA giving him the green light to do so.

Hill has played three years of college basketball. He started his career in Bowling Green in 2023, then transferred to NC State in 2024, and then to the Aggies in 2025. Another year of eligibility is entirely possible considering he hasn't played four years yet.

Hill averaged 10.3 points and 3.1 rebounds with the Aggies. He's always been underrated wherever he went, but when he averaged over 20 at Bowling Green in his freshman season, he knew he was going to do big things at a Power 4 school.

At NC State, Hill thrived as a facilitator and shooter, and he took that same energy to Aggieland, where he's been loved ever since. He's one of the quiet hidden gems on McMillan's roster, and it would be a huge win if Hill can stay with the Ags.

It may have been panic mode for Texas A&M fans when they heard that Hill would enter the portal, but they still have a route, as it seems both parties still want to stick together.
