Texas A&M just completed a massive second half that cemented a blowout of the Mississippi State Bulldogs in Kyle Field, a defensively dominant performance that showed just how scary this Aggie team can be. It was a complete dismantling of MSU by the Ags— the Bulldogs had scored at least 24 in every other game— 34 in every game but one— but they didn't even reach double digits against A&M.

Combined with Florida's win over Texas in the Swamp earlier, this shows that the Aggies' showdown with the Gators next week will be a pretty exciting matchup. This win guarantees that this game will be a prime time showdown between these two squads.

This also just solved the puzzle of when exactly these teams will face off against each other. Here's the latest on the kick time for the Aggies against the Gators.

Texas A&M's domination of Mississippi State guarantees prime time showdown with Florida

With the SEC announcing that the 6:30 PM game on ABC is not the Aggies (it will be Auburn vs. Georgia), and the 6:45 PM game set to be the South Carolina Gamecocks' visit to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, that means that the only option left for Texas A&M's game against the Gators is the 6 PM kick slot on ESPN. The conference confirmed as much with a post on X earlier tonight:

The times above are listed in Eastern, obviously.

A second-straight night game was something that A&M fans already knew they were getting, but the difference between SEC Network and ESPN is pretty considerable, so this is definitely a big plus for Texas A&M.

The Aggies will have another big task on their hands when they play the Gators, as they showed quite the penchant for running the ball against Texas today and were characteristically solid on defense. Of course, it's one thing to win in the Swamp, and it's another to win in Kyle Field. There will be no shortage of eyes on this game next weekend— and even more now that we know it's going to be on the mothership this upcoming Saturday night.
