Texas A&M's offense under OC Collin Klein has shown a strong commitment to running the ball in creative ways. With a strong dose of modern flair, Klein's blend of old-school and new-school is predicated on the ability to consistently pick up yards on the ground, and he is among the best at finding creative ways to do that.
Of course, you need the horses to do this at the highest level. When Le'Veon Moss went down last season, the Aggies were completely shorthanded at the position, forcing to split carries between Amari Daniels and EJ Smith— who very well could have been entering the season as the numbers three and four guys in the room.
Once Moss and Daniels depart, however— not to mention Rueben Owens, though his injury last season means it was officially a redshirt for him— the Aggies will need a deep stable of backs. Though Deondrae Riden and Jamarion Morrow are promising, the Ags are shooting for a two-back class in 2026— and they may just be able to pair two elite runners together in that cycle.
Texas A&M set to receive official visit from elite RB KJ Edwards
Carthage RB KJ Edwards has released his official visit list for the summer, and the Aggies have made the cut. The elite in-state back will make his way to College Station on June 13.

The Aggies are looking to add Edwards to their current commit list, which already holds a pledge from RB Jonathan Hatton, who is elite in his own right. This would be one heck of a one-two punch if the Aggies were able to land both, the likes of which no one in the conference could hold a candle to.
Texas A&M is locked in an in-state battle for Edwards, by all indications. The Longhorns are pushing hard for him as well, and the fact that they'll get a later visit is disappointing. However, it looks like A&M is pushing recruits towards the June 13 weekend, as other big time names seem to be targeting that weekend to come to College Station as well.
No matter what happens in this one, it's going to be a battle right up until signing day. The Ags have a chance to make a huge impression once he makes his way to campus here in a couple of weeks, but whether they'll have staying power to overcome his other visits is something that remains to be seen.
