Texas A&M spring game takeaways: Brandon Arrington is coming along quickly
The five-star corner from California came into College Station with a reputation of being a raw prospect, but you wouldn't know it to watch his play in this game. He was draped all over Aaron Gregory on defense, making play after play to impress the A&M faithful.
Arrington has the prototypical corner frame and then some— his lengthy arms jump out at you immediately when you see him on screen, and he was using them to bat away passes all day. His speed is unimpeachable, as he was a track star in high school, so he can keep up with anyone in the country.
Both Dezz Ricks and Rickey Gibson were out for this game, so two players who are projected to be in the starting lineup didn't get to go. However, Arrington's play has him firmly in the discussion for a starting job headed into the fall, which is something that not many fans at all anticipated.
