Texas A&M football adds yet another top-100 prospect in 2026 to strengthen early no. 1 haul in upcoming cycle

While the on-field news may not be the rosiest right now for Texas A&M football, Mike Elko and this Aggie staff are going to work in a big way on the recruiting trail. After adding several top players in the junior class following last week's big win over LSU, the Aggies just strengthened that class even more.

Two notable names to pledge to the Aggies last week were WR Aaron Gregory and EDGE Jordan Carter, both out of Douglas County High School in Douglasville, Georgia. Both of these guys are top-50 players in the class and borderline five-star talents.

It's not often you see the Ags dipping into the Peach State for some highly-rated commits, but this staff was able to pull off that kind of coup thanks to their tireless efforts and an intimidating home environment last week for both players' official visit weekend.

Now, the Aggies have added yet another Georgia standout in the junior class. TE Xavier Tiller, a top-100 player in the upcoming class, has gone public with his verbal commitment to the Aggies. A&M won out over Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, and Louisville.

Tiller's commitment gives the Aggies the top class in the nation for the 2026 cycle. It's early, but it's an encouraging start nonetheless for Mike Elko and company, especially when you consider that most of these highly-rated commitments have come from out-of-state prospects.

Tiller boasts a tall and lanky frame, with room to add a lot of weight. He is explosive and polished as a receiver, and could be a guy who ends up being a true top threat as a blocker and pass-catcher.

Though the most recent on-field result is disheartening for the Aggies, this is yet another sign of the turnaround that Elko has worked in the A&M program. Here's hoping this success continues throughout the cycle.
