This was a pulse-pounding win for the Aggies, but it was well-earned in every respect.

Texas A&M vs Arkansas takeaways: Marcel Reed's impeccable execution

I wrote about this in the instant reaction, but the way Marcel Reed delivered in this game time and time again was positively masterful. The Aggie passer hit 72% completion in this game and— most importantly— didn't turn the ball over even once.

He was on target the entire day, with very few passes sailing over the heads of his receivers. Most importantly, his deep ball passes were right in the pocket every single time— two of which were to the much-heralded but heretofore-quiet Ashton Bethel-Roman.

Every single time Arkansas scored in the second half, Aggie fans began to get tense, but Reed was as loose as ever. He led the offense with aplomb every single time, undaunted by the juice the home crowd was feeling, the game situation, or any defensive machinations on the part of the Razorbacks.

The steadiness he demonstrated on the field was characteristic of a much more experienced quarterback than he, but no. 10 was as smooth as butter despite his relative novice status. Especially in a raucous environment like Fayetteville was, it was extremely impressive to see Reed do what he did— and that's not even considering the fact that he had what should have been more than a fifty-yard rushing touchdown called back thanks to a holding call away from the play.
