Pete Nakos of On3 just surprisingly announced that Texas running back Quintrevion 'Tre' Wisner has entered the transfer portal.
Most of the media was shocked by this at first, as Wisner is the bell cow rusher for the Horns. Wisner has a 1,000-yard rushing season on his resume from 2024, and went for his best rushing day of the 2025 season against Texas A&M, of course. The only thing that would shock the college football world even more would be Wisner in a Texas A&M uniform.
Wisner is also the fourth running back to enter the portal, putting a huge question mark for Texas at that position. It'd be a long shot, but this would be exactly what Texas A&M needs. Getting running back depth is a must this offseason.
Former Texas RB Quintrevion Wisner could shock the world by transferring to Texas A&M
Originally from Glenn Heights, Texas, which is just south of Dallas, this move wouldn't be completely radical. Wisner is a Texan at heart and could easily stay in-state to be with Mike Elko and his growing potential in the game of college football.
Texas A&M's ending was disappointing to say the least, but it revealed a pattern that Texas A&M must address in the offseason. Run the football. Texas A&M could not run the ball effectively against a ferocious Miami front seven.
It also doesn't help that some of the Texas A&M offensive linemen will be leaving after this season, but Wisner could be the huge boost that the Aggies need at RB. The Aggies' depth at RB is questionable, to put it lightly.
Elko could insert Rueben Owens II or Jamarion Morrow as the next guys up, but how would fans honestly feel about that? The Aggies would feel comfortable with a more experienced back who has a history of feasting against plenty of defenses.
Wisner transferring to A&M would be a long shot, and no one expects it to happen, but Elko should give it a thought at the very least. Not to mention, getting Wisner would also be a huge 'big brother' move on Texas A&M's part.
