If there's one thing that it would be foolish to expect out of the average Texas fan, it would be a sense of care, self-awareness, and propriety in college football discussions. This can be empirically proven with a quick survey of any comment section on Aggie Facebook pages, as those in burnt orange who constantly crow about how they live rent-free in A&M fans' heads mysteriously infest such spaces.
The irony of that reality is, of course, lost on those who patently lack the ability to be self-reflective in any measure (read: everyone leaving such comments). It's simply a foreign concept to them, apparently— something which just got proven again in the leadup to the Texas A&M and Texas showdown in Austin.
As the Aggies took the field in the glorified high school stadium down in Austin, a large contingent of Texas fans in the crowd thought it appropriate to chant that the no. 3 Aggies were "overrated." No, seriously.
Texas fans once again demonstrate they have no idea what irony means as they call Aggies "overrated"
This moment was captured by David Nuño of Texags in the leadup to the game:

As he says in the tweet, of course, this pathetic attempt at a jab is being carried out by fans of a team that began the year as the no. 1 team in America before falling completely out of the rankings, faster than any other team has ever done in the era of the AP Top 25.
If there's anything that categorically proves a program is "overrated," it would be that. That's how Texas has been all year— and how they are every single year. And yet, they see the Aggies— who have had to scratch and claw for every ounce of respect this year, just like every year— and they think that this is an overrated team.
The other humorous implication here is how this is a slight towards themselves: the idea is that "you're going to lose to us, so you must be overrated." I thought this was a top team you had down in Austin? I thought this was supposed to be the creme de la creme? No?
The Aggies are about to open up a can on the Longhorns to an epic degree. I have little doubt that, by the end of the third quarter, this fanbase will have all but entirely cleared out of this pathetic stadium as it dawns on them who they've been trying to mess with.
