Conference play is knocking on the door at Kyle Field and the Aggies are more than ready to answer it, with sights set on their first 4-0 start since 2016. They'll be faced with a talented Auburn roster and one potentially in desperation mode as they try to avoid an 0-2 start in conference play. Despite what we may think of these teams it's important to never take an opponent lightly, so let's discuss some of the key storylines to be looking for when these teams kick things off Saturday afternoon.
The health and rest advantage for Texas A&M
Last time around it was the Aggies themselves who were at a rest disadvantage, traveling to face a Notre Dame program that was coming off a bye the week prior. While that didn't end up hurting Mike Elko's crew much at all, the hope is that catching Auburn at anything less than 100 percent can play a part in the Aggies' fourth straight victory.
Auburn has yet to take a break in the early parts of 2025 and will be on its second straight road trip and third overall this season. The Tigers found themselves in a grueling battle at Oklahoma last week, a hard-hitting game that went down to the wire, and one that also saw its starting quarterback get sacked 10 times.
Should Auburn come into this game hobbled or fatigued, even slightly, this rested Aggies group should have a really nice opportunity to seize an early lead and keep control of this game for a full 60 minutes.
