Texas A&M's matchup with Samford this Saturday will be a welcomed pause in the organized chaos that this Aggie season has been. It's their first game outside the SEC since September 13, they're favored by more than half a century's worth of points, and anything but a comfortable win by halftime would be a shocking result.
But that doesn't mean there aren't things to look forward to or discuss heading into the game, so let's brush up on some trending topics as this Aggie team inches one step closer to the conclusion of its 2025 regular season.
Those AFib Aggies ... Has everyone's hearts settled down?
We're now four days removed from Texas A&M's heroic second-half efforts to beat South Carolina and I still don't think the nerves from that game have settled. A win is a win — there's no need to cry over milk that didn't even spill — but it's hard to not see these results on a weekly basis and not remain stressed over what lies ahead.
This team always has a response. We've seen it against Notre Dame, against Arkansas and in the second halves against LSU and South Carolina. But what happens when even this team's best response comes up short? Has this season of playing with fire means that an abrupt rainstorm will allow it to flame out in an instant right before our eyes?
Saturday's game will not have an ounce of the dramatic flair that we've seen from the Aggies this season — it shouldn't, at least. But even while we're watching this team go up by 30 on the Bulldogs and breeze its way to an 11-0 record, it'll be hard to not think about this team's volatility and how easily things could turn south.
