Texas A&M basketball came into Austin confident to get a season sweep against the Texas Longhorns.

The Aggies led by as many as 22 in the game, with Wade Taylor IV getting off his slump against Ole Miss, which was a blessing to see for Aggie fans.

There was a huge mistake that the Aggies made in the second half with the Longhorns already leading a furious rally, and it cost them in the end.

Aggies' technical foul for six men on court was a massive mistake

The Aggies were up by nine, 59-50 after Taylor IV hit a triple to silent the crowd. This came at a great time, as the Longhorns were already getting going.

The Aggies then committed one of their worst technicals of the season, in which they had six men on the court, which was an automatic technical foul. It was one of the more odd and rare moments that anyone had ever seen in a basketball game. It's happened before, but not very often.

Tre Johnson, the hero for the Longhorns, hit both free throws followed by a 3-pointer to add onto his own personal run.

After clutch shot after clutch shot from Johnson, it ended up being Tramon Mark to hit a game-winning shot by driving inside and banking it off the glass with just a couple of ticks to go. Taylor IV would attempt a desperation heave from half-court and almost went in by hitting the rim, but was unsuccessful. Mark even commented on the technical foul that led his team to victory.

Just like basketball in this day and age is a game of runs. The Longhorns' run was just a bit better than Texas A&M's. In a one-point loss, you can point to the technical foul with six men on the court as leading to this opportunity. Solomon Washington was called for an unsportsmanlike technical foul much earlier in the half, but the six men on the court came much later, and felt like more of a team mistake than an individual one.

The Aggies flipped their own script from being the cardiac second half team to losing a big lead of their own, and it was one that's going to haunt them for a while.
