It was an eventful 2024 season for the future QB1 of Texas A&M football. With Conner Weigman getting benched, and eventually moving onto Houston, this made Reed the clear QB1 for the Aggies' future.
There have been several underrated rankings disrespecting Reed, even though he comes into a new era of SEC quarterbacks that haven't been out there as much as him.
However, this one piece from Pro Football Focus puts into perspective how the media really feels about Texas A&M football. This one inaccurate and foolish description of Reed's game will have Texas A&M football fans rolling their eyeballs, and it's easy to see why.
PFF lists Reed as a "longshot and overrated vet"
This may be a new low that Aggie fans have seen this offseason. This article from PFF differentiates Power Four quarterbacks in all different types of categories.
For example, Cade Klubnik from Clemson and Sam Leavitt from Arizona State are listed as the potential "next stars" of college football. Haynes King from Georgia Tech and Diego Pavia from Vanderbilt are listed as "great rushers," with better passing needed on their resume.

Reed being listed as a "longshot and lower rated vet" simply doesn't make sense. He doesn't have nearly the same reps as most quarterbacks on that list, and he's listed as redshirt sophomore coming into this season. By that definition, he shouldn't be listed as anything "veteran."
We're not saying he's on the same level as Klubnik or Leavitt, but putting him in that particular category is preposterous. He'd fit much better on the category of Pavia and King, where they've proven to move the football with their feet, but they just got to get better reps passing the ball.
It's not surprising for Aggie fans to see the disrespect of their teams anymore, and this "analytical look" shows that they didn't really bother to see Reed all the way through. It'll be just a few months until Reed can get out there to prove the haters wrong.
