Texas A&M 2026 schedule takeaways: November will be brutal for Texas A&M football

That South Carolina game, though, kicks off a positively brutal stretch in the final month of the regular season. The trip to Williams Brice will be tough enough, bye beforehand or no, but the final three games are really something.

The Aggies get Tennessee at home, at least, but after a rebuilding year in 2025 (that still saw them get to 8 wins), Josh Heupel's squad will be out for blood. Erstwhile Aggie target Tristen Keys will likely be emerging as a freshman phenom in Heupel's high-flying system, so the Aggies will no doubt be tested especially on defense in a big way on November 14.

Then, the Aggies venture to Norman to face off with OU and John Mateer, who will be ready to sling it all over the yard with (most likely) a portal-reinforced skill corps and improved offensive line. That defense may not be quite as good next year as it was this year, but I think the offensive improvement they'll see will counterbalance that. Texas A&M has never had much luck in Norman, but this is a different era, to be fair.

They close it out with a rivalry game against Texas, who is definitely not the most intimidating opponent in this stretch— and, given their schedule, will probably be limping into town— but Elko will be looking to finally get a rivalry win here. That, if nothing else, will most likely mean a highly-anticipated game.
