Texas A&M is gearing up to take on the Miami Hurricanes tomorrow in their first-round playoff game in what is, without a doubt, the most highly-anticipated game of the first round— and the most important game that either team has played in for quite some time.
There are a lot of predictions floating around out there about this game (many influenced by the last time we saw the Aggies take the field, I have to say), but we finally see it all settled on the field tomorrow. With that in mind, here are three reasons to believe the Aggies will take home a victory tomorrow.
Texas A&M gets up early with explosive pass plays
This is a key aspect of this game. If there's one place this defense can really be had, it's making plays downfield in the passing game, much like the Hurricanes did to the Aggies last time these two teams squared off.
Now, though, the shoe is on the other foot. The Aggies are going to be able to test this Miami secondary to a greater degree than any other team that the Canes have seen this year— yes, including Notre Dame. Especially considering that was the first start of CJ Carr's career, this will be a much tougher task for the Hurricanes.
If the healthy tandem of KC Concepcion and Mario Craver can make some big plays in the pass game early on, it will put a lot of pressure on a Miami offense that would much rather be methodical. They could start pressing— and we've seen what happens to offense that are pressing against the Aggies in Kyle Field.
