Three reasons Texas A&M football heads into the bye week still undefeated in the SEC
Texas A&M football heads to Columbia, South Carolina this week for another road test. This is maybe their toughest of the year; they caught Florida at a good time early in the season and neutralized the Swamp before anything got going for the Gators in that one, while Auburn and Mississippi State are currently residing in the conference basement.
Because of said difficulty, the Aggies are a trendy pick to get upset this weekend. It seems that people still aren't quite bought in to A&M yet, and so the Ags have to not only get a win in Willy B, but also disprove a narrative.
So can this team do that? We've seen their mental toughness at many times, but this challenge is still a pretty dire one.
Here's three reasons to think they come out on top this weekend.
Aggies silence the crowd early
Against Florida, A&M came out like gangbusters, scoring on every single first-half possession to take a 20-0 lead into halftime. The crowd really was not a factor in that one, due to that fast start.
Against Mississippi State, however, that did not happen. The Aggies allowed the Bulldogs to score on their first possession, and the first half was close, meaning the crowd stayed into the game as the teams headed into the locker room with A&M leading by only 4.
The Aggies will be ready for this matchup, though. Even if they're coming off of an emotional victory last week, this is a coach and team that is ready for the moment. I think they start the game off emphatically and render the South Carolina crowd inert.
