Texas A&M is having an interesting week of practice.

After the second half avalanche on offense led by Marcel Reed against LSU, there's no doubt there are some questions moving forward about the position.

While Reed's throwing ability had been the piece that was missing to the offense, the team was able to get by while Conner Weigman was out.

Here are three storylines to watch before Saturday's game against the Gamecocks.

1. Marcel Reed or Conner Weigman?

Reed led a furious rally after a 17-7 halftime deficit against LSU. There was no rhythm going for Weigman and the offense.

After a turnover, Mike Elko hit the reset button and inserted Reed into the game. One play was all Reed needed.

There was no disrespect to Weigman, the offense just needed to try something different. If they had went with the same thing, they likely would've ended up being predictable by running a lot more.

Reed brought a difference maker in an instant. He deserves to be looked at for QB1 moving forward.

For any Aggie fans that are concerned about him throwing the football, that's understood. ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit seemed to disagree though, saying at the conclusion of the game that Reed has an accurate arm. His long bomb to Noah Thomas proves it all.

We'll be all eyes on Saturday early afternoon to see who gets the starting nod.

2. South Carolina is sneaky good

Don't take this game lightly, Aggie fans.

The Gamecocks are 4-3 on the season, but that doesn't matter. South Carolina has one of the most intimidating defenses in the world.

Exhibit A: just look at the Alabama game. Alabama did not have their best against the Gamecocks and were able to forced the Crimson Tide to make turnovers in the game.

They get after the quarterback, their secondary is smart, and they can tackle fiercely.

The records don't matter in this case, of course considering it will be a Saturday night road game on ABC.

The Gamecocks have been close to an elite victory. One thing Aggie fans can remember is that the Gamecocks layed an egg against No. 12 Ole Miss at the time. The Aggies have a game inside themselves as well (as stated in the first headline). So, this will be an interesting affair.

3. Aggies are still a slight favorite

Vegas still has the Aggies as a slight favorite.

The betting people know that this can be a tight one, despite the Aggies looking like the better team all year.

The Aggies can break that cover with a field goal, or a touchdown if they're leading late in the fourth.

If you were to bet against the cover, it'd be understood. It's a night game in South Carolina, and this is definitely a game that can go both ways.

The Gamecocks will keep it close, the only question is: how close?
