Takeaways from Texas A&M football vs. LSU: Marcel needs to be involved going forward

I've been firmly in the Conner Weigman camp this entire season. Even during the three-game win streak earlier this season, I still had no. 15 as the clear guy that you roll with when both are healthy.

Now, though, I think you need to consider some options.

I don't think I would commend going full-time with Reed, still. We saw the struggle that the offense can be when it's just him out there—Arkansas was nigh disrespectful with how in-your-face the defense was, completely downplaying any ability Reed may have to throw the ball downfield, and he couldn't take advantage. That's not a winning recipe.

Reed still has accuracy issues, especially deep. His one pass to Noah tonight doesn't change what we've seen out of him so far this year. But the spark he brings to the run game and Klein's ability to call those plays does add an element to this offense that you need to incorporate.

Going forward, I think you need both. Not some alternate-every-series thing, but sticking with the hot hand and finding what works from game to game. Some teams struggle with one look more than another, and the two systems look so disparate right now that having a change-up is a huge advantage for the Ags.

I think we see Reed start on the road at South Carolina next week, and Conner ready to come in if needed. If I had to guess, they both see time in Williams-Brice.

But however it happens, Reed needs to be a part of this offense going forward.
