Three ways Texas A&M football can get the new year off to a great start after limping to 2024 finish line
Texas A&M football fans are still trying to shake off the way this previous season ended. The Aggies have been hot in the portal and recruiting trail over the last few days, which has turned things a bit sunnier, but ruminating upon the way things looked in November and in the bowl game still has some Aggie fans upset.
Rightly so, in all honesty. This looked like an alarmingly different team after the LSU game— on defense in particular— and there are clearly some things that need to be cleaned up.
Of course, year 1 is not necessarily the most predictive for new coaches. The changes and moves that Elko makes right now will be key to his tenure. Here are three things that the Aggies can do to start the new year off right.
Three ways Texas A&M football can start 2025 off right: Add a five-star recruit for upcoming cycle
Texas A&M football is circling several five-star recruits for this upcoming cycle. Though the 2025 cycle is technically still active, the Ags are done with current seniors and have turned their attention to the 2026 class.
The Ags are in on guys like OT Jackson Cantwell, DL Lamar Brown, ATH Brandon Arrington, WR Tristen Keys, OL John Turntine, and more. All of these are five-star talents, and the Aggies have the inside track with several of them.
A recent tweet from Brown in particular has fans wondering if a commitment could be imminent. The Ags have laid quite the foundation so far in 2026; the pledge of a guy like Brown could be one of possibly several crown jewels in a huge class if things break right.
