Two coaches Texas A&M fans would hate to see at Arkansas— and one they would love

The Aggies may not be playing Arkansas every year anymore, but they still don't want to see their traditional rival thrive.

Arkansas football is a storied program that hasn't really done much of anything since they made the move to the SEC. There have been some good years here and there, but the days of competing for national championships are far in the past by this point.

Even though the recent announcement of permanent opponents for SEC teams removed the Razorbacks from Texas A&M's slate, the Aggie faithful still don't want to see the Hogs return to any sort of national prominence. As a program rival, it's fun to keep them down, and as a geographical recruiting rival, the Ags don't want another hand in the pot.

That in mind, here are two coaches that the Aggies would not want to see come to Fayetteville— and one that they'd be perfectly fine with.

Coaches Texas A&M fans don't want to see at Arkansas: Rhett Lashlee

The former Auburn OC and current SMU head coach is a name that a lot of places have thrown out already as a guy that makes sense. He's done a good job in Dallas and has SEC experience, so it makes a lot of sense.

The issue is whether he's set to leave the Ponies for somewhere like Arkansas. There's no guarantee that he would consider the job in Fayetteville to actually be superior to what he has going on in Dallas— after all, he reached the conference championship last year in the ACC, and the Hogs are very far from doing that in the SEC.

Add in the fact that SMU is one of the most monied programs in the nation, and they could be set to be a real contender in the NIL era if he keeps stacking good seasons in Dallas. I wouldn't be sure that he's ready to make that jump, but if he does, it wouldn't be great for Texas A&M.
