Two coaches Texas A&M fans would hate to see at Arkansas— and one they would love

The Aggies may not be playing Arkansas every year anymore, but they still don't want to see their traditional rival thrive.

One coach Texas A&M fans would love to see at Arkansas: Bobby Petrino

There is a lot of reason to believe that Petrino being the interim head man this year when the Aggies come to town is a negative for Texas A&M, but in the long term, having Bobby P remain in Fayetteville would be nothing but a positive for the Ags.

His offensive system can produce against low-level competition, but when they play teams that are as or more talented as them, they completely hit a wall. We saw that much when he was the OC in College Station, but we just had it reconfirmed when they played against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish this past weekend.

It's not as though he's an elite recruiter, either, so the Hogs would continue to be less than a threat for a lot of the top-shelf talent that the Aggies are going after. With his past and his reputation that has followed him, it could be easy for a determined staff to negatively recruit against his program with him at the head spot.

That past and reputation would likely guarantee that he does not get full-throated support from the boosters, either. Though he's beloved by a lot of the fanbase in Fayetteville, the way things went down last time he was in charge means he's divisive among the people responsible for this job.

Overall, though it may enhance the Aggies' chances of getting tripped up in a trap game this year, in the long term I think this would be a plus for Texas A&M.
