Texas A&M has picked up the commitments of two future five-stars in the defensive backfield this weekend, gaining verbal pledges from CB Raylaun Henry and S Jayquan Snell. Both members of the 2027 class, they join five-star S Kamarui Dorsey and CB Hakim Frampton as members of the secondary in the current junior commit class.

Henry's commitment has been anticipated for some time now, as when he set a date, predictions began to flow in that he would jump in the boat. Those only became more sure and confident when he revealed he would be visiting Aggieland the same day he went public with his pledge, tipping his hand just a little bit.

He's a true lockdown corner, currently ranked as the 18th player overall in the nation per 247Sports. Though they don't promote such players to five-star status until closer to their senior year, if he stays in that spot, he will earn that distinction. He committed to Texas A&M over Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, and Penn State.

Texas A&M lands commitments from Raylaun Henry and Jayquan Snell to continue building lockdown secondary

One lockdown defender in the secondary isn't enough for one weekend for this Aggie coaching staff, apparently, as they in the last few minutes picked up a commitment from Waxahachie S Jayquan Snell. Ranked as a top-30 player in the class, Snell is a hard-hitting and physical presence on that side of the ball.

He joins Kamarui Dorsey as safety commits in the Aggies' class, both top-50 players and potential five-star prospects when all is said and done. With these two commitments, the Aggies move up to the no. 1 class in the nation for the 2027 cycle— but there's obviously a long way to go.

They could add another piece to this secondary group before long, too, in Rivals Industry no. 1 overall player John Meredith. The corner out of Euless is really high on the Aggies, and his addition would move this secondary group from elite to unbelievable.

That's all considering the talent that the Aggies have coming in at this spot as well, including their current highest-rated 2026 commitment in CB Brandon Arrington. This could be the beginning of a legendary run of shutdown Aggie defensive backs, and we're just getting started.
