Texas A&M’s has updated their injury report ahead of this weekend’s showdown with Kentucky, and Aggie fans can breathe a sigh of relief on at least one front. After being listed as questionable in the original report, star Aggie defensive end Anto Saka has been upgraded to probable as of yesterday.

While Texas A&M goes very deep at defensive end, having Saka in the fold will help them tremendously against a team that will be looking to be very physical along the lines of scrimmage, leaning on their opponents. Probable means it’s about a 75% chance of him playing gin this game, as opposed to questionable, which is roughly a 50% chance to play.
TK Norman is the other player who has been upgraded from questionable to probable on this report, possibly giving the Aggies another option at receiver. However, this report is obviously not all sunshine and rainbows: two key offensive weapons for the Aggies have been downgraded to doubtful on this report, casting a pall of uncertainty over their status for the game.

Jamarion Morrow and Ashton Bethel-Roman both have been downgraded to doubtful on this latest injury report, meaning the Aggies could be without two of their top offensive weapons in this game against Kentucky. Bethel-Roman has had a tough time getting going so far this season— but then again, he had a slow start last year as well before really getting going late in the year.
Bethel-Roman is a great player when he’s going, but the Aggies‘ receiver room has depth as their strength this year, so this should not affect them too terribly. Terry Bussey, Aaron Gregory, or even TK Norman can step up and give the Aggies some really quality snaps in this one to cover for the potential loss of ABR.
Morrow has been one of the most explosive weapons for the Aggies thus far in the year, and that’s come with him having been limited thanks to a minor injury in practice. It’s apparently significant enough that the Aggies are trending towards keeping him out for this game, but all is not lost there.
KJ Edwards and Carsyn Baker are the two true freshman running backs who fans have been clamoring to see more of since game one, and now they should get their chance. Rueben Owens will no doubt still get the stat, but look to see no. 0 and no. 5 out there quite a bit if Morrow ends up not playing.
The Aggies should still have more than enough fire power to take out the Wildcats in this one, so discretion is the better part of valor for the coaching staff here. Morrow and ABR were both huge for the Aggies in last year’s game in Death Valley, and the Aggies will definitely need them next week for their return to Baton Rouge, so it’s maybe better to rest them this week if there’s a question about their availability.
