Way-too-early 2025 record predictions for SEC teams: Bama back to form, Texas A&M football takes step forward

The 2025 SEC schedules have been out for several days now, and there has been a lot of chatter about how they stack up. Some teams get pretty favorable draws and home-road splits, while others have a significantly tougher row to hoe.

Of course, if you're a good enough team, you can overcome some of these hurdles. So even though there are some teams with tough slates, they still have a good chance of finishing with a solid record; conversely, there are bad teams with easy slates that will end with poor records.

So how will everyone finish? Let's take a look.

Way-too-early 2025 SEC record predictions: Alabama

The Tide are one of the teams with a more favorable slate this year. They don't have any road games back to back, and though they play Georgia and Tennessee, they get one at home and the two games are relatively spaced out.

A non-conference game against FSU looks far less formidable than it used to, and the Tide get byes before their games against Georgia and LSU. Their biggest road test will either be against South Carolina or in the Iron Bowl, but I have them winning narrow games in both contests.

I do not think, however, that they will be able to take down Georgia on the road. Though they will be otherwise unblemished, the loss to the Bulldogs will loom large later in the year, as the conference championship approaches.

PREDICTION: 11-1 (7-1)
