College football week 9 late slate: First screen - 8 LSU @ 14 Texas A&M (7:30 PM ET/6:30 PM CT, ABC)

This is, no question, the biggest game of the weekend. This game will decide who the top team in the SEC is here in late October, which is no small designation.

The Aggies are currently at 4-0 in the conference, while the Tigers are sitting at 3-0. This is the second straight conference road game for LSU, which tends to be a bad sign, historically speaking.

I think we see a dialed-in Conner Weigman and the Aggies are able to control the game. A&M will score on the strength of their defense at least once—whether a pick-six, fumble return, or short field gifted by a turnover—to help put this one out of reach. Prediction: Texas A&M 38, LSU 24

College football week 9 late slate: Second screen - 3 Penn State @ Wisconsin (7:30 PM ET/6:30 PM CT, NBC)

This could be a trouble spot for the Nittany Lions, as they are anticipating a visit from Ohio State next week. PSU is sitting pretty for a playoff spot at the moment, but they really can't suffer more than one loss without some big questions arising.

Wisconsin is on a three-game win streak, with their only losses to Alabama and USC. Now, those don't look as good in retrospect, but there have been some bigtime flashes with Luke Fickell's squad, who looks like they may have figured out some offense after Tyler Van Dyke went down.

There are a few things that make me think this will be a closer call than PSU fans would like, but I think the Nittany Lions escape with a win. Prediction: Penn State 28, Wisconsin 20
