Winter transfer window dates for Texas A&M football: When is final day for Texas A&M football players to enter portal?
As you might expect, the transfer portal winter window has once again been a completely torrid experience for Texas A&M football. Though the Aggies are a definite winner of this cycle, addressing several needs pretty precisely, things still move at a complete breakneck pace.
Last year was especially chaotic for Aggie fans. One of the big contributing factors on that front was that Aggie players had an extended window to enter the transfer portal due to the fact that A&M brass chose to fire Jimbo Fisher in early November. That meant that Aggie players were able to enter from that exact moment up until the close of the portal for every other team— a near two-month window of time.
With no coach firing happening this season, thankfully, the Aggies are in the same boat as everyone else this year. But that raises the question: what kind of boat is that? When does the boat... uh, end? This analogy is kind of breaking down.
When is the final day for Texas A&M players to enter transfer portal?
According to the NCAA's transfer rules and calendar, the final day for Division 1 FBS players to enter the transfer portal is Saturday, December 28. That means that any Aggie players who have been holding back have to enter by the end of the day tomorrow if they want to depart.
There is a spring window, of course, which runs for nine days from April 16 to April 25 of 2025. We saw some outbound movement there this past year, but only a couple inbound of note— LB Solomon DeShields being the most important.
I have a feeling that we won't see many more contributors head to the portal in this window, though. As things get sifted in spring camp, maybe the next window— but I think the Aggies are done otherwise.
